DIY Mini Mother’s Day Card with GLDN

I’m so excited to share this sweet little project just in time for Mother’s Day! I’ve teamed up with GLDN, a brand I adore for their beautifully detailed floral jewelry, to bring you this thoughtful DIY: a mini Mother’s Day card featuring 2D layered paper tulips.

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or someone who just wants something quick and meaningful, I’ve got options for both. Let’s get into the details!

Why I Love These Mini Tulip Cards

I’ve been making these 2D mini paper tulips for a while now, and they never fail to make me smile. There’s something so satisfying about piecing them together—each petal layered like a tiny puzzle.

To make them extra special, I paint the cardstock with soft watercolors before assembling. The watercolors give the flowers a gentle, handmade feel that really pops once everything’s dry and glued down.

How to Make It:

  1. Cut your tulip pieces out of cardstock. You’ll need a few petals, a stem, and two leaves for each flower.

  2. Paint each piece with watercolor and let them dry completely. I love blending a few shades of pink or orange for a natural look.

  3. Once dry, assemble the tulip pieces on your card, layering the petals and leaves with a bit of white glue. Think of it like a puzzle—each piece overlaps slightly.

  4. I used two tulips for my design and placed them off-center for a little visual interest.

  5. Add them to your mini card base—and just like that, you have the sweetest handmade gift!

Not Feeling Crafty? I’ve Got You!

If you’re short on time or don’t feel like painting and gluing, I created a printable version just for you! 🖨️

I took a photo of the finished 2D tulip card and designed it in multiple styles—so you can simply print, fold, and go.

I also included a printable envelope template. Just fold down the side and bottom tabs, apply glue, and seal it shut after you tuck the card inside.

Why This Pairs Perfectly with GLDN

GLDN’s Flora collection captures the beauty of florals in such a delicate, intentional way—just like these mini cards. I love how thoughtful their jewelry is, with subtle details that speak volumes. Pairing this handmade card with one of their pieces makes for the perfect Mother’s Day gift: personal, heartfelt, and totally unique.
