My Last Few Days of 2024

It’s been a while since I’ve been on my blog but starting 2025, I want to be back on my blog and share some behind the scenes and upcoming new projects. I’m starting literally on the last day of 2024 so here we go! This past week was packed with creativity, organization, and some magical family adventures. Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve been up to:

Visited Michaels to get some supplies to reorganize my craft room. The new year is going to be the perfect time to tackle a fresh start, and my craft room was calling for a makeover. I found the perfect cork foam board for my space and couldn’t wait to get started. Loving everything at Michaels new section, I picked up a strawberry vase—adorable and just in time for Valentine’s Day! This vase has brought such a fun, cheerful vibe to my workspace.

Making a Fabric-Covered Inspiration Pin Board

One of the highlights of my craft room project was creating a fabric-covered pin board. If you’re looking for an easy and functional DIY, here’s how I did it:

  1. Cork Foam Pin Board: I got it here- https://bit.ly/3PcBISA

  2. Prepare the Fabric: Measure the size you’ll need and iron it first to remove any wrinkles.

  3. Attach to the Board: Hot glue the fabric onto the foam board, making sure to pull it as tight as possible for a smooth finish.

  4. Cut the Corners: Neatly trim the corners to keep it tidy.

This pin board now hangs proudly in my kitchen as an inspiration piece. It’s such a simple DIY that adds personality and function to any space.

Eco-Friendly Swaps for the New Year

In the spirit of starting fresh, I’ve also made some sustainable swaps in our household. I’ve been trying out reusable products from Esembly, including their reusable straws, paper towels, and even alternatives to Saran Wrap. Their products are fantastic, and the reusable straw that opens for easy cleaning is a game-changer. Don’t forget to use my discount code "SKHM20" at Esembly if you’re interested in trying them out!

A Family Adventure at Universal Studios

Over the weekend, we took a family trip to Universal Studios, and it was packed with unforgettable moments. My son absolutely loved the experience—although the adults in the group jokingly said we’d rather be at Disneyland! Highlights included:

  • Toadstool Café: We waited 3.5 hours for the Mario Cart ride, but luckily got to enjoy a meal at Toadstool Café. While I’d have preferred Panda Express (yes, they have one in the park!), the cute atmosphere of the cafe and the bowl you get to keep made it worth it.

  • Wizarding World of Harry Potter: This area was truly magical

This week was a wonderful mix of creativity at home and fun adventures with the family. From crafting my inspiration pin board to exploring Universal Studios, it’s been a time to reflect, create, and make memories.

Thank you for joining me on this journey! Don’t forget to check out my latest vlog for more details and visuals from these adventures. See you in the next post!
