Hello Seattle

We love visiting Seattle and we go often enough where we don’t have to visit Pike Place Market anymore. My sister in law lives near the airport about 30 minutes away from the city and my husband proposed to me here on our first couple’s trip when we were dating. (Engagement story) So this place is special to us and we can’t wait to visit more often as our baby boy grows up.

All of Washington really feels like a giant park. You walk down the neighborhood and it’s so green everywhere! Even though we really wanted to escape the California heat, when we got to Seattle, we were a little sad that it was gloomy most of the week we were there and it also rained every other day. Come on it’s July!!! I was hoping for some 70s weather sunny with a breeze but reality was Seattle really is a gloomy city. I quickly realized I can’t live here! The gloomy weather got me feeling so blah… But when the sun came out, it was nice to enjoy it on this balcony that made us feel like we were in a treehouse. We planned for lots of outdoor activities but who were we kidding, we ended up eating our way around Seattle, what we do best anyway!

Coffee first! We have so many coffee shops we’ve tried every time we visited, I want to say you can’t go wrong with coffee in Seattle. Our favorite thing to do is grab a twice baked almond croissant at Bakery Nouveau and I’m telling you all their food items are good too so you could go there for your whole meal! We checked out Seattle Fish Guys after watching Mark Wiens and it was pretty amazing, just a warning, it was quite busy and hectic there so with a toddler made it more complicated to enjoy it. I say you get it to go and find a cute park near by. We also got to see the Apollo 11 module that went to the moon and back at the Museum of Flight. It is crazy to see how humans made things to fly and fly to the moon! Our toddler didn’t care at all for this museum but we hope to bring him back once he could appreciate it! We got to dine at Salty’s on Alki Beach and wow that view was amazing. Thank goodness our toddler was not throwing food at people at this fancy place, surprisingly enjoyed our meal with a calm toddler with that view. Don’t forget to eat plenty of oysters when in Seattle, my husband hates them, more for me!

The city is overrated now that we’ve been there enough times and with a toddler, forget it! We like to enjoy looking at it from a far, typically at Alki Beach. April 2018 when our baby was about 11 months and not walking, July 2019 our baby is now a toddler 2 years old, running and jumping! Same place! Hopefully we could get these pictures at the same place every time we visit as a tradition!

We loved Lincoln Park, it felt like a forest! You could also do an easy walk around the trails in this park that overlooks water. Don’t let these photos fool you though! I’m not going to lie, this trip was stressful and we were so tired! Traveling with a toddler is not enjoyable even if you went to some dreamy resort. But I love seeing our baby boy see new places and take lots of pictures of him experiencing new things.
